Halloween 2013

Scott at the ward party ready to break open one of the individual pinatas Marshall made. He made 94. Yeah, don't ask. He promised this would be the last year he made them.

Marshall and I were in charge of Scott's class party at school. We decorated and played games, had lots of treats and a big pinata for the class. They loved it and thought it was the best party they've ever had.

I also had a Halloween party for my swim group. They had a lot of fun and were so glad they didn't have to get in the pool for once and do a workout.  Again we had lots of treats to go along with the pigs in blankets.

Turning 40

Scott took these pics on my iphone. The flames from the candles were awfully bright this year. I must say that I wasn't excited about turning 40, but I did make myself a great dinner. Brisket, mashed potatoes, cole slaw and cornbread. I ended it with a perfectly baked key lime cheesecake. They actually had key limes at the grocery store so it was extra yummy. I got an arm band for my iphone and new head phones that Samantha and Amy are not allowed to steal from me, and a new running outfit. That Saturday we went to Ruby River with my family. Amy and I split some prime rib and I got a cute new outfit from my parents and siblings. Everything I needed. So, even though I'm 40 I will be stylishly dressed whether going out or running. I'm running faster right now than I ever had and a lot further too, but I still don't think i'll attempt another marathon. But that's in the future. I think for now I'll just enjoy where I am.

Scott received his Webelos badge

He also earned his Arrow of Light, but since Marshall couldn't be there, they decided to wait until the next pack meeting to give it to him. He's pretty excited.

Amy's 14th Birthday

Amy's friends stopped by and decorated her room for her birthday.

With the "backup" cheesecake. Mine didn't have enough time to set up. This one was gross and no one liked it. Mine was awesome, but no pictures.

Some of the sushi we made. Mostly Samantha and Amy made it. California rolls and shrimp tempura rolls.

Birthday Time

It's that time again. Birthdays are back. First off was Samantha's 17th. I cannot believe she is so grown up. Makes me feel so old. Marshall and I checked her out of school and took her to lunch and then out shopping.
We had a birthday dinner at home with an ice cream cake from Cold Stone.

Scott and Amy got her new running clothes, which she practically lives in when she's not at school. She had to go to young women's that night, so we hurried through dinner, but a bunch of the girls came back home with her when it was over and finished off her cake. It was the perfect ending for her big day.

We also took Amy shopping for her birthday. More running clothes. Scott wasn't as excited about the shopping.
Everyone was excited for lunch. We went to Red Lobster! Samantha and Amy split an admiral's feast. Such yummy food.
That night we made sushi for dinner, one of Amy's favorites. I'll have to get the pics off her phone. I also made her a cheesecake, per request. It was one of the best cheesecakes I have ever had, if I do say so myself. We finished off the day with a movie at home. So much fun. Amy really loved her birthday.
We capped off the week with dinner at my parent's house. Michael and David also had their birthdays the same week. More cake and more presents. Can't complain about that!
