Zones 2014

We didn't even make it out of the driveway before we realized something was wrong with the car. The windows didn't work and the car key didn't work either. The windows were down and it had started to rain, plus who wanted to drive with the windows down? We stopped by the dealership, who couldn't help us.  We stopped by Big O, who referred us to another guy, who couldn't help. Marshall stopped by a guy's house from our old ward in Orem who is big into cars. He could't help either, but referred us to an auto shop in Lindon by the cannery. The guy took the door panel off, reinserted a wire that had come loose, and it was fixed. He didn't even charge us for it. so we got on the road a little later than expected. Luckily we were planning to stay the night in Vegas. The sunset was beautiful as we got close.

We stayed at the Excalibur and even at night it was still hot. He walked a short part of the strip since the girls were tapering. Samantha got a Hard rock t-shirt to replace last years.

We stopped by the Hershey's store, which was very exciting. We also rode the roller coaster at the New York New York, which was so fun. We all love roller coasters.

The next morning we headed out to Fresno and checked into our hotel. Then we drove to the pool at Clovis North High School to meet the team for a warmup/practice. The 3 Sams all wore their specially made shirts. Last year I drove these girls to the meet and we stayed together. These are a great group of girls. Just love them. Look how cute they are.

 Sam 1, Sam 2. Sam 3

After the warm-up the team headed to the Old Spaghetti Factory to carb load for dinner. It was so fun to be together as a team.
The kids did a good job coming together as a team. Amy's 1500 free was the first swim for our team. She was so nervous. She had just qualified for the first time 2 weeks before at State with a 19:49. Her altitude adjusted time that was entered at the meet was 19:26. She had an amazing swim. Her 200 split was 225, her 400 split was 5:00 (her best 400 time) and her 800 split was 10:14, 4 seconds off the zones qualifying time. She ended up with a 19:20. She was so happy, and so tired. We met up with the rest of the team for a team dinner at the hotel. They had Olive Garden brought in for more carb loading  Samantha swam the 200 breast the next day. She went a 2:51 which was a best time, though we were hoping she'd go under 2:50. She took it out in a 1:21 which is her fastest 100 time.  Amy went a best time in the 200 free _2:21.59, the 200 breast which was a second slower than her best time, and a 4:56 in the 400 free, which was another best time. Samantha had a really nice 200 free -2:18.10 and a best time in the 400 free with a 4:51. So overall it was a great meet.
Waiting around for the relays at finals.

Scott had to sit around all day and wait for everyone to swim. Luckily he had lots of electronic games to keep him busy.
The temps were 110 everyday. Definitely needed some Jamba.
